Background
Structural engineers design and plan the frameworks of buildings, bridges, and other structures to make sure they are safe, strong, and can handle the weight and forces placed on them. They use maths, physics, and computer software to calculate how materials will behave and create detailed plans for construction teams to follow. They work with architects, construction managers, and other professionals to turn building designs into reality.
