Background
Trading Standards Officers protect consumers by checking that businesses follow the law when selling goods and services. They inspect shops, markets, and online sellers to make sure products are safe, fairly priced, and honestly advertised. They investigate complaints from the public, take action against dishonest traders, and help educate businesses about their legal responsibilities.
