Background
A sports referee is responsible for enforcing the rules of a sport during matches, games, or competitions. They make decisions about whether plays are legal, award points or penalties, and ensure fair play between all competitors. Referees need excellent knowledge of the sport's rules, quick decision-making skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure from players, coaches, and crowds.
