Paramedics are emergency medical professionals who respond to 999 calls and provide urgent medical care to people in crisis situations. They work on ambulances and at accident scenes, treating injuries and illnesses, stabilising patients, and transporting them to hospital. The job involves making quick decisions under pressure, working irregular shifts including nights and weekends, and collaborating with other emergency services like fire and police.
