Background
Insurance underwriters assess the risk involved when people or businesses apply for insurance policies. They review applications, medical records, financial information, and other documents to decide whether to approve a policy and what price to charge. Their job is to protect the insurance company from losing money on risky claims while keeping premiums fair for customers.
