Background
Detectives investigate crimes by collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects, and analyzing information to solve cases. They work with police officers, forensic specialists, and prosecutors to build cases that can be taken to court. Detectives spend time at crime scenes, in offices reviewing reports, and in the community gathering information.
