Transparency Hub exists to document how WhereWeLearn is governed, how decisions are made, how data and privacy are handled, how funding is approached, and how the initiative is stewarded over time.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"860\" data-end=\"940\">This post explains <em data-start=\"879\" data-end=\"884\">why<\/em> this decision was made and <em data-start=\"912\" data-end=\"927\">what it means<\/em> in practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"947\" data-end=\"976\">Why this decision was made<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"978\" data-end=\"1117\">WhereWeLearn exists to support learning as a public good.<br data-start=\"1035\" data-end=\"1038\" \/>Trust, accountability, and long-term stewardship are essential to that purpose.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1162\">From the outset, the platform has aimed to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1165\" data-end=\"1186\">remain non-commercial<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1189\" data-end=\"1212\">avoid hidden incentives<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1215\" data-end=\"1242\">respect privacy and consent<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1245\" data-end=\"1297\">complement existing education rather than replace it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1299\" data-end=\"1502\">As the service has matured and reached learners across multiple countries, it became clear that these principles should not only guide internal decisions, but be <strong data-start=\"1461\" data-end=\"1487\">visible and reviewable<\/strong> by the public.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1504\" data-end=\"1570\">The Transparency Hub was created to make that visibility
